Serendipity Special SciFi Sale

Serendipity Book Store has a special on SF - Science Fiction, Speculative Fiction, Super Fantasy, et al. Hard covers and paperbacks, new and vintage, just 50 cents each. Oh, and Horror Romance, Urban Fantasy, and Paranormal Romance! And quite a few vintage SF art covers.



Curtains Up On Space Operas
 
This is a great resource for car trips with the kids, bedtime background, or story time change of pace. In the Serendipity Book Store for 25 cents each. Stock up for pocket change. Hundreds of different cassettes on hand (just ask to peek in the closet). Full disclosure: the music from several of these artists are on my mp3 jukebox. Like Sharon, Lois and Bram, and John Lithgow, and a host well known of Folk Singers and Rock Stars.

Come pan for music gold on our CD rack outside the Serendipity Book Store. Here is where I discovered that I loved Lyle Lovett (who knew!?), that Nana Mouskouri can sing the blues, and that Bluegrass is actually really good. Still just $1 per disc.

Speaking of donations

FRL accepts donations of all media types in good condition: books, books on tape or cd, movies on dvd or vhs tape, and music on cd and cassettes, and records in any format, 33 1/3s, 45s, and 78s. We also occasionally receive valuable or collectible items to help raise funds. The generosity of our members helps fund our Humboldt County Libraries, benefiting the entire community.

Dolores Guffey has provided the Serendipity Book Store with a great new batch of unique and classy book marks saved from distressed books that were headed to recycle. 


 

Along with the 'new' vintage book marks, Dolores is providing Serendipity with 'new' vintage post cards salvaged from the covers of distressed books. 


 

FYI, Dolores Guffey is a local artist who regularly has displayed her book works at the Humboldt County Library, along with her fellow book artists. Drop by, take a look. Pick up a book mark or post card for yourself, or for that book lover in your life. Thanks, Dolores!

Our book sales are typically held on weekends, with Friday sales reserved for members only. We now open early for our members on Friday morning (10:00), it has become very popular so we will be continuing the early start on Friday for members, don't forget you can join at the door. Saturday sales are open to the public.  Membership fees are only $5 a year, and support your local libraries.
